Grace to Grieve with Hope
Discovering God's Grace in the Midst of Loss
Not too long ago, I had the distinct privilege of being interviewed by the extraordinary Rev. John Arnold. Battling cancer and living beyond what he calls his "Expiration Date," John selflessly recorded conversations desiring to "encourage people going through the difficult experience of a terminal medical diagnosis or the loss of a loved one."
Filled with unexpected emotion and candor, our discussion covered a broad range of topics including the confusion we experience when God seemingly operates outside of our current understanding of His nature. We also addressed the question, "Is God punishing me?" Finally, rooted in New Testament Scriptures about Mary, the sister of Martha, we talked about our spiritual posture and gleaned a word of hope about the resurrection of Lazarus.
This 25-minute conversational testimony shares portions of the original video John posted on Facebook and begins with the story of my sister's cancer diagnosis.
I pray this video blog will help you take the next step in your journey of grief. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" (Romans 15:13 NASB).
